Andrew Lees is corporate director of safety, health, environment and quality (SHE-Q) for Mammoet, the world’s largest specialist in engineered heavy lifting and transport. He is a highly experienced and dedicated SHE-Q professional, having worked his way up from practical middle management where he gained the required hands-on experience in the heavy lifting and transportation industry.
For the last 11 years, Andrew has been located in Middle East, managing teams of expatriate and local personnel to ensure compliance with corporate goals and contractual and legislative requirements. Recently his efforts have been directed towards the strategic implementation of an integrated management system for various regions and offices in the Eastern Hemisphere.
Andrew joined Mammoet in 2003 at the UK Head Office in Wallsend, Newcastle. Starting as a safety officer, he moved up through various roles including almost two years outside the SHE-Q world as an operations manager for a large number of mobile hydraulic cranes. In 2007 he moved to Mammoet Middle East to take on the role of the regional SHE-Q manager, moving up to a director’s position covering Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
