Co-founder & joint-managing director, BlokCorp
TOPIC: Using cameras to improve safety on lifting operations
Ben started his career as an apprentice in mechanical and electrical engineering at a small material handling firm in 1999. In 2006, through his tenure at Peter Hird & Sons, he became more involved in the maintenance and calibration of specialist lifting equipment.
In 2012 he became general manager and later, managing director of Compact Lifting Group. Compact Lifting Group was at the forefront in the development of the mini crane market worldwide and rapidly developed into a significant business.
In 2015 he and Peter Hird launched Blokcorp after seeing a gap in the market for a high-quality camera system that would fit to the hook block of many types of cranes. BlokCorp is now a multimillion-dollar business and has a distribution network in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Australia.
