Malcolm began his career in the lifting and rigging industry as a school leaver joining in a lifting equipment supply and rental company in Bristol, UK in 1993. Starting on the shop floor making wire rope slings, assembling chainslings and preparing other lifting devices and equipment he went on to cover a number of activities within the industry such as repairing, testing and devising testing methods.
From 2002 to 2007 Malcolm worked for an organisation specialising in installation of overhead cranes. His knowledge of the lifting industry expanded to encompass working at height equipment and systems, such as life lines and inertia reels.
In November 2007 Malcolm relocated to Abu Dhabi, initially working for a lifting and rigging supply company as business development manager. He worked with major contractors on some prestigious projects such as the Al Raha Beach Development, and Saadiyat and Yas Island Developments.
Between 2014 – 2020 he worked for a number of international manufacturers developing business in the Middle East and further afield, working with distributor networks, major projects and large key customers.
In 2020, after 13 years in the Middle East, Malcolm returned to the UK and took up the position of Regional Sales Manager, UK and Middle East, for Murlink Chains. This is a project which is fast developing and evolving, and receiving interest in the industry on a global scale.
